This is a great apartment with a view of the ocean and extremely good location, next to a shopping mall, "the Forum," which has EVERYTHING: a grocery story, a computer store, a healthfood store, a barber shop, a hair shop, artisanal ice cream not to mention well known clothing store. The Ponta Gorda swimming complex is a 10 minute walk and there's a swimming pool in the building and a public bus stop in front of the building. I mean what more could you want? Bed is comfortable and everything works beautifully.

Apartmant is true to photos, perfectly postioned on the island. Everything needed very close. Isabel is very responsive and kind, ready to help out resolve any situation fast. Pingo Doce, supermarket is next door. It gets a little noisy at night but nothing troublesome if you are in the apartment or room.

Sandra was extremely responsive and helpful. And we really enjoyed the condo. Nice view of the sea from the balcony, and beautiful view of the island from the pool. The walking path in front of the building was wonderful to have direct access to. The kitchen isn't the most equipped, but it's manageable. The bathroom is spacious, with good water pressure and long-lasting hot water. The bed was comfortable for us (although I will note that my husband and I prefer firm beds, so if you don't that might be a problem). The biggest downside was that the bedroom is in the back of the condo, on the hallway close to the elevator and parking lot. There was a decent amount of noise late at night and early in the morning - so bring earplugs!

Centrally located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and markets this is an ideal apartment in a quiet location. A spacious fully functional T1 + 1 that is clean and bright. Staff come weekly to clean and replenish bedding and linens, an unexpected surprise. Beautiful modern decorum, with a washing machine + drying rack which is super handy.

Although the apartment is in the city, it boasts a large terrace overlooking green space where we enjoyed some of our meals outside. As outdoor enthusiasts, this was important to us.

We really enjoyed this apartment. Mr. Andre Reis, is a proactive landlord, readily available to assist. Even though Mr. Reis has many properties and is a busy man, he is calm and kind - we were never made to feel like an imposition and felt well taken care of (always important when a person is in foreign lands).

Madeira is an amazing place, visually stunning, great food and the people are friendly!! I would recommend this rental to anyone who may be interested.

This is a very well located and equipped property. There are a few supermarkets just a few minutes away and restaurants offering good variety that are open until late (11pm), so you can grab a late night dinner after long day in the nature. The location is just above a busy street, but it's Funchal, not Porto Moniz or Sao Vicente, so expected it to be a bit more livelier. There is also a bus just a minute away zipping you straight into the city centre. Property had absolutely all amenities starting from kitchen equipment to a washing machine, which was very handy, and also a garage to park the rented vehicle. There is a balcony and also a huge terrace on the side, which could be great for families or larger companies to have some dinner/breakfast together.
"An Island Apart" as a landlord has been very responsive and made the stay convenient for us - easy check-in, loads of useful information upon arriving and quick responses to questions. Apart from minor quirks like squeaky bed slats (which could and should easily be replaced!), everything else was perfect!

We lived here for two months and could not have hoped for a better place! The view is incredibly and the terrace has space enough to enjoy every meal outside and even sunbathe. The rest of the place is just lovely as well. It's about a kilometer from the city centre and the beach and getting down there is very quick as it's down hill. Coming back up is a bit of a different story though but you'll get used to the climb! Jessica was a great host and helped us quickly with everything we asked for. If you're considering a longer stay in Funchal this is the place you've been looking for!

The property owner, Sandra, was responsive and accommodating. On the apartment itself, the ocean views from the balcony were simply breathtaking. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!
