Hi, I'm Laxmi — welcome to Awakeland.
Awakeland is a reforestation retreat center tucked in the foothills of the Monchique Mountains in the Algarve. This is a project close to my heart: a piece of land we're slowly bringing back to life, and a home we share with writers, artists, meditators, and quiet seekers who come to create, rest, and reconnect.
We started this journey years ago, took time to let the land rest, and relaunched in 2026 with something more intimate, small, curated stays rather than crowds. What you'll find here isn't a hotel experience. It's a place run with real care: plant-based meals, eco-conscious living, wild lavender and rosemary growing at the door, and a team who treat every guest like they belong here.
Awakeland is not just a bed, but a welcome. You'll be welcomed by people who actually live and work on this land, who know its rhythms, and who want your stay to feel unhurried and real.
