INSIDE
Internally the tastefully furnished lounge includes 2 sofa-beds and armchairs around the fireplace, TV and a dining table which comfortably seats 8 people.
There is a fully equipped kitchen: oven/hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine and other small appliances (please refer to the below “Good To Know” description).
There are two bathrooms: one bathroom-accessible from the master bedroom- with a large shower, the other bathroom, which is accessible from the corridor, has a bath.
In total there are 3 bedrooms each with hanging rack and drawers for clothes:
1 -master- bedroom with a double bed and an extra single bed,
1 bedroom with a double bed, desk and chair and air conditioning,
1 bedroom with two single beds and air conditioning.
In addition, there is extra sleeping space in the living area with 2 single beds/sofas.
Therefore, in total Il Cortile can sleep comfortably up to 9 people.
If needed, a travel cot and a high chair are also available at no extra cost.
OUTSIDE
Just outside the kitchen, a long table seating 12 guests sits beneath a motorised patio canopy, perfect for al fresco dining, with a barbecue close at hand.
In the private courtyard area -which is self contained, enclosed by walls, and only accessible through its own gate- you will find a selection of garden furniture and a parasol.
GOOD TO KNOW
At your arrival, and for convenience, you will find the beds ready and bath towels for each member of your group.
If you plan to go to the beach, please note that beach towels are not included.
In the house, you will find a hair dryer, an ironing board, an iron and, in the courtyard, drying racks for drying clothes.
You will find house cleaning supplies but products for personal hygiene are not included.
The functional kitchen has been equipped with a few appliances (such as toaster, microwave oven, food processor, blender and mixer, electric juicer, electric tea kettle, coffee moka pot, french coffee press but there is not a dishwasher) and you will find condiments and some additional basic ingredients (such as extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee).
Two - east facing- bedrooms have air conditioning, the north facing master bedroom, facing the internal courtyard, which is normally cool even during summer months, has mosquito nets at the windows and a pedestal fan with remote control.
The house, during the winter months, is heated by its central heating system and radiators are installed in all rooms.
Internally, the overall floor to ceiling height is approximately 2.4 meters throughout the apartment and (apart from inside the bathrooms) there are no steps internally.
Please note that externally, there are a few steps down to the apartment, please refer to attached photos, which provides clear dimensions. However, if you have any accessibility issues, please, do not hesitate to contact me and I’ll provide further assistance.
THE BEACH
The beach, near the Tonnara Bordonaro, is a pebble/sandy beach and definitely not among those most memorable in Palermo. However, there is free access to this beach and it’s less than 5 minutes walk from il Cortile. If you are looking for a sandy beach, fully equipped, I suggest going to Mondello, which is the most popular beach in Palermo and is less than 9Km/15 minutes by car from Il Cortile. A bus service is also available and the bus stop is located just outside the main gate.
SMART WORKING
In the house there is WiFi and 4G is available outside. In addition, one of the bedrooms has a dedicated workspace near a plug socket.
The fast WiFi speed (412 Mbps) has been tested, using the AirBnB WiFi speed test and the password is available once you confirm your booking.
IF YOU HAVE/RENT AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV)
The apartment does not have an EV charging port and for insurance reasons you must not charge electric bicycles, motorcycles and/or cars by plugging them anywhere into mains sockets inside or outside the house.
DIRECTIONS
To reach “Il Cortile”, by car, from the centre of Palermo you need to take the SS113 road and it takes approximately 20 minutes. There are buses from the city centre, from the port and the main railway station. Further information on how to get to Il Cortile is available once you confirm your booking, in the detailed “Directions” provided in the “Arrival Guide” section, however do not hesitate to contact me, if you have any questions or you wish to receive any clarification.
