Everything was excellent! The location was perfect, there was convenient parking, and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming.

11/10 is not enough. For our 2 week stay, this place has been absolutely perfect for us, rural, quiet, cosy, clean, and what not.
Luis has provided us much much more than we expected. We literally felt like home.
I would definitely recommend and 100% return!

Very quiet, feels extremely safe, nice friendly people all around.
A couple of places around to do some emergency grocery shopping or have a beer/poncha/coffee.

I'm so glad I found this wonderful place! Far from the bustling city, it offers stunning, breathtaking views. Waking up to a mountain view was a wonderful way to start the day. It was exactly what I was looking for for a week-long getaway. I also loved the location—right in the center of the northern part of the island—making it easy and quick to reach all the sights within 30 minutes. A grocery store and gas station are also nearby. There's also parking on site. The cabin has everything you need for a long, comfortable stay, even sandwich boxes for taking with you on your walks. The bed and mattress were very comfortable; I slept well and nothing disturbed me. Luis and his wonderful mother are very polite and kind, always ready to help with any questions! They helped me with advice, for example, on shopping and sightseeing. And before leaving, we received a treat of homemade cookies, which was a very nice touch. Next time I will definitely stay at this place

Conveniently located, easy to reach by car, not too high in the mountains, the slope is normal, not too steep, and the road is wide enough for this area. If you use Google Maps, before approaching the house, it directs you to turn left at the intersection along the church, but I recommend turning right, as this will make it easier to access Luis's property later

I had a very good stay in Sao Vicente. It was a nice quit place and i could ask everything at Luis. All that you need is there. With a car you can come everywhere on the island.

The neighbourhood is very safe. As a woman alone i felt always safe. In the place Sao Vicente is a good supermarket and a few restaurants.
There is public transport but you can better rent a car.

Everything was perfect! Luis is very friendly and welcoming. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need, nothing was missing.

This is a nice and quiet neighborhood, 5 or 6 minutes drive to the grocery store.

Everything was so lovely, we didn't want to leave. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, they make you feel like part of the family. The tiny house was cozy and clean, and had everything we needed. And those views... absolutely stunning! Thank you, Luís!

It's a very quiet little village. Aside from a church, some chickens, and a single local café, there aren't many amenities. What you will find, however, are beautiful views and complete peace and quiet. The village is located 3 kilometers uphill from the center of Sao Vicente, where, in contrast, you'll find all the facilities you need. Therefore, having a car is very practical.

Chalet and the views are absolutely beautiful. Luis and his mom were wonderful to talk and cooperate with. Driving anywhere was quite long, but worth the stay.

In the beautiful mountains just above Sao Vicente. Mostly houses with a fairly close restaurant and a shop.

This holiday home exceeded our expectations in everything. Luís and his mom were hospitable and helpful with our every question or request. We stayed in a small cozy modern cottage in the middle of the grape plantation on a picturesque hill near Sao Vicente. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, and additionally, we were able to use a grill at the entrance to the cottage right next to a small outdoor dining area. The terrace on the second floor was our favorite spot to have a meal with the best outlook over the plantation and the hill. It's a nice location for those who like hiking as many trails are around this part of Madeira. It was nicely fresh at night as the clouds would come down the hill giving very light refreshing drizzle and yet very sunny and warm at daytime even though the end of September is not quite summer. We loved everything about our Madeira home and we are hopeful to be back to this beautiful countryside in the middle of the island. Thank you Luís for making our vacation exceptional!

Quiet countryside surrounded by several mountain ridges with small settlements on the hills below the ridges. I wouldn't stay there without a car like anywhere in Madeira. The nearest big supermarket is 14km away. There are quite a few local restaurants/bars in the vicinity. Several official tourist trails start in 15-20 min drive from the place. The sea coast is within maybe 5-10 min drive in Sao Vicente though maybe the best beaches are more in the south or in Seixal in the north.

I had a really lovely time at Luis's house, the view from the house to the surrounding mountains is stunning, the house is well equipped and I had everything I needed. Luís was super helpful, answered all my questions and recommended some nice places in the city. I stayed for a little over a week and mostly used my time for hiking and a few levada walks around the area, so I didn't need to use public transport very often, just to get back to Funchal. It's a really nice and peaceful place, I highly recommend it.

The view of the appartment is Amazing, Luis was very available for me, give me some ideas of visits in the Island, very nice, you are in the mountains with lots of animals, plants....
I had a peacefull, relaxing and chilling trip in this house.

Amazing place to stay! High recommendation 10/10. The house is very cute and well equipped. The landscape is spectacular! Luis and Angela are very welcoming and helpful. You can manage in the area without a car and at the end of your holiday a better physical shape is guaranted. In case of overtraining, there is taxi and car rental available in São Vicente ;)

Naprosto nádherné ubytování v krásné části ostrova. Pan majitel je krajinný architekt a jde to poznat. Citlivé zasazení do severní zelené krajiny společně s vinicemi, které nemovitost obklopují, bylo magické a naši svatební cestu to výtečně vyšperkovalo. Vřele doporučujeme, pokud chcete být v soukromí daleko od mas turistů a v zelenější části ostrova. Auto je ale nejspíše nutností.

Hned za rohem je dobrá levná kavárnička s milou starší paní a výtečnou kávou. V dojezdné vzdálenosti je několik obchodů a restaurací, ale je rozhodně lepší mít auto.

The neighborhood is beautiful. There is small bar with water and drinks 3min away. The next supermarket is 5min away by car (60min by foot).

Public transport isnt available, taxis also rarely. So you either really like to walk or rent a car :D

We spent few wonderful months in Luis's house. It is so cozy and well equipped. The location was perfect for us because of the privacy and mountains around. Only 5 min to the ocean, 10 - to the nearest mountain path. Luis was responsive and always helpful.
Highly recommend! Will definitely come back one day!

Idyllic, peaceful, safe and lush

Beautiful small, but very well equipped, chalet in the middle of the mountains.

Beautiful and peaceful place. Luís was handy and attentive. The dog Sasha was breeding and petting. We recommend this accommodation with all ten.

Restaurant Lavrador,

Luis is a great guy...proactive and responsive to questions, etc. On his wonderful family's property in a close n'hood of S.V. We rented one of his few units, ours being a tastefully restored palheiro with a well-apportioned, minimalst, modern design. We will definitely rent this flatio unit on our next vit to Madeira! Bonus: they have a very sweet dog, Sasha, and you're welcomed to greet her with a daily dog-treat and take her for long walks ;-)

Every area of the island and neighborhood on Madeira has its own unique people and energies to them. This one is full of wonderful folks, and they of course all know one another. Have fun, but mind your manners, be respectful of the older folks walking on the streets, and you will be happily welcomed here by all...

We visited Donna Padaria & Confeitaria almost daily...an always-friendly staff, and some of the best, fresh baked goods on the island...some with truly unique recipes! In the same plaza is a small but well-stocked grocery store with extensive butcher and liquor departments, too.

Amazing location, the view is awesome.
